After careful consideration, On November 4, 2008, we voted to give Sheriff Ezell Brown a chance to show us. And, from Day One, he has proven that “A Vote for Ezell Brown Means You Are Looking For… An Accessible, Working Sheriff”.

Bridge the gap between the Sheriff’s Office and all members of the community to create collaborative “winning strategies” for maximizing prevention and intervention efforts; (DONE)
Revitalize community watches and intergenerational approaches to “take back” our neighborhoods from gangs, sexual predators, and other perpetrators of crimes against person and property; (DONE)
Open doors to better communication between the Sheriff’s Office and other local, state, and federal agencies responsible for serving and protecting our citizens; (DONE)
Win the war against the “big three-sex, drugs, and violence”; (STILL FIGHTING) and establish
Networking opportunities, engaging public and private sectors, aimed at keeping crime down and making Newton County safe for all its citizens, young and old alike. (DONE)

Bring together human and financial resources needed to ensure that the department effectively uses technology in the delivery of 21st Century law enforcement services;
Review continuously departmental policies, procedures and practices to ensure that we meet and exceed the standards set forth by our accrediting agency.
Organize and maintain a proactive patrol and investigative force that results in reducing opportunities for committing crimes.
Work untiringly to identify criminal activity, pursue and apprehend criminal offenders, and proceed in the prosecution of known offenders.
Network with local, state, and federal agencies to maintain public confidence in the department by maintaining a high degree of professionalism, dedication, and expertise in the delivery of law enforcement services.
